Séc. XVIII, real and rare historic Portuguese one (rural
Portuguese aristocracy) not the usual rationalist one´s; coat of
arms (“Brandões”) in the celling at the entrance living room and at the main gate. The
house was recovered in 1930/40.
One of the most prominent Portuguese architect as this kind of
houses as model to his work, mostly done in the previous
regime. Raul Lino was is name.
The house, with large granite wall’s, confronts with a main road,
Rua Principal, in the quiet village of Nogueira, the village is called
“ Aldeia de Nogueira”. It as 30 meters length for 12 meters large
(aprox. 360 m2); an attic and in part of the house there are stores
bellow. 12/14 living spaces in the principal floor, with 5 very
ancient ceilings in “ Maceira”.
Roof recent recovered, actually part of the house is reconstructed in high standard, hall, WC, large Kitchen (with fire p`lace), living room ( also with fire place) and room (this make possible an immediate use of the house); other works already done (window shutters recovered, some ceilings, floor structure,
etc…) and many other interventions under going; The interior wood (mostly oak) is in good condition’s (cleaning is very much needed) and it as solid wood friezes, a
living room with fireplace, and it as traditional stone benches in
the windows, called, “senhorinhas”. The kitchen as solid granite
floor.
House to recover in part, in a 5.500 m2 property.
4/5 minor houses to recover with granite walls, one of them an oven
house.
A simple fountain in the garden with date inscription (1786); fruit trees and flower trees with more than 200 years (cameleiras).
Tourism open possibility`s with public and non-refundable subvention (not used yet).
Plenty of water, mine and well’s in the property;
Flat space on the top of the main house to made a pool or other
amenities; more or less 2500 meters;
2 Km from Oliveira do Hospital (nice city with all the things
modern life requires); near the highest mountain in Portugal,
“Serra da Estrela”, and 45 m. to Coimbra (main city in central
Portugal) and 1,15 m. from the sea (Figueira da Foz beach).
